"Had THE most awesome relaxing time here! Was soo impressed how cute the bunkhouse was, with everything we needed provided! The river was perfect. Just sitting in that cool water and enjoying the beautiful scenery was comfort for the soul! Even enjoyed some fishing! Nice bass, crappie and perch! So enjoyed our host Sylvia!! She was so nice and very interesting to talk to! And the best part.. Lil bit her adopted rescue would come and visit us! She was so darn cute❤️We will definitely be going back! Can’t wait! Thank you Sylvia for all your hard work you put into making this Oasis for people like us! Your awesome!"

"The grounds are sooo pretty..it was a gorgeous place for a wedding. But the cabins were REALLY hot and the air conditioning just wasn't cool enough for me. Other than that, it was nice."

"My husband stayed here for almost a year when he worked in San Angelo and never had a complaint. It's quiet and clean"

"My mother and I stayed in the Hideaway Cottage at Hummer House for her 95th birthday, and had an absolutely amazing time. We had full access to the viewing room (even though it was closed for the season), and the number and variety of birds was astounding. To sit on our porch morning and evening and watch the deer was my Mom's very favorite part. We had use of a golf cart and it was fun to ride to the river and enjoy the shade and beautiful views. The pictures of the cottage do not do it justice, it was absolutely charming. The owners are so knowledgeable and happy to spend time sharing their knowledge and answering questions. Just a wonderful experience in every way."

"D and L's RV Park is a great place to stay. Its quiet and is surrounded by trees. The staff is very accommodating and friendly."

"Beautiful small campground. Very peaceful. Lots of trees and friendly neighbors. Very secluded and in the country. Love this place."

"Very run down (needs to be remodeled soon) dark and dingy inside the lock on the door was difficult to operate inside and out! They wanted $60 first then dropped it to $55 +TAX! It was still over $60 I don't know what the. hotel tax is in this county? Will we stay here again probably not! They keep saying the price was "For The Area" "For The Area" I know the Area very well I used to live here! It's actually Dying like most rual towns in America lots of homes for sale, some becoming Abandoned :( it's definitely not what it was prior to Marshala Shale coming in and Fracking for Natural Gas. It used to be like a protected National park they used to have Horse Drawn Sleigh rides down main St but it's all disappeared ! You would think when the diverted rt 15 and built a wide highway things would get better but no people are now just passing the small towns! This is what happens to RT 66 the Interstate killed main St USA. So yeah I know the area! Very well!"
